GROUP MENTORING FOR SCHOOLS

The Group Mentoring Program provides group-based support and life skills workshops for students at risk of becoming involved in the justice system. This program will focus on offering guidance in key areas such as respectful relationships, mental health, substance use, peer pressure, and goal setting.

Students frequently suspended or showing signs of disengagement

At-risk students referred due to trauma, behaviour, or family instability

Youth nearing or involved in diversion pathways

Weekly 1-hour sessions with small groups of students

Tailored to the cohort, guided by input from teachers, and focusing on the Yellow Brick Road to Change program, which includes topics such as:

    • Health & Wellbeing

    • Identity & Self-Worth

    • Peer Pressure & Substance Use

    • Conflict Resolution & Boundaries

    • Career Pathways & Future Planning

  • Facilitated by trained mentors with lived experience and cultural/community insights

  • On-call availability for further support or follow-up if required

  • Certificates of participation and progress reports to support student records

  • School principals and leadership teams

  • Chaplains, student wellbeing coordinators, and school psychologists

  • Youth workers and community liaison staff

  • Juvenile diversion programs

  • PCYCs and Aboriginal community organisations

  • Available for both metro and regional WA schools

  • Weekly 1-hour sessions, delivered on a flexible basis to suit your school’s needs

  • On-call support for additional student needs if required

  • Designed to complement existing wellbeing and support programs at your school
